Heading West
Started working on a new branding project today for a new Luxury Lodge to be built in Bozeman, Montana. The founder, Sasha Slorer, wants it to be an exclusive entity that connects people to the beauty of the natural environment of Montana and perhaps to a part of themselves they had either lost touch with or newly discover as a result of spending time at the lodge. It will be a meeting place where connections with others and family coalesce into a unique experience. It will have access to some of the greatest fly fishing rivers in the world, both public and private. All within steps of the culturally thriving town of Bozeman. The Lodge will afford the opportunity to bear witness to how culture and nature can coexist. And Bozeman has a rich Native American heritage. This play into my instincts, not just as a designer, but as a naturalist and fly fisherman as well. Very excited to engage in this work. The architecture will be atypical in its vision to the kind of thematic lodges we think of when we think about a western Lodge. No Elk horn chandeliers. There will be a high consideration of the use of local natural materials.
